Relieve Stress in 1 Step
During this winter season, it is important to stay grounded throughout the frantic energy of end-of-year goals and holiday prep . One of the best ways to do that is to draw our attention way down low…literally to the bottoms of our feet🦶.
Read on for a simple at-home exercise to relief stress…
💚 Place a rock or tennis ball on the ground and place your foot on top of it. This can be done standing, or seated — whatever is comfortable for you.
💚 Move your foot around on top of the ball until you find a slightly tender spot. (This shouldn’t be painful. You are looking for that ‘good type of ouch’.)
💚 Keep breathing, and apply a bit more pressure to the rock or ball.
💚 Repeat on both feet🦶
That’s it! Take note of how you feel during this exercise. Any change in your breathing 🌬 ? Any sensation in other parts of your body 💃? You will likely be feeling a bit less in your head and a bit more in your body. Nice work!🤗
(Acupuncture 101: The bottom of your foot is home to one of my favourite Acupuncture/Acupressure points — called “Gushing Spring.” This point is used to bring excess energy from the head down to the feet, which helps aid in relaxation and anxiety relief.)
